Sharon was delighted
to Wear It Pink to show her support for the breast cancer awareness
campaign and mark the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which
aims to encourage better awareness, prevention and
treatment.

She gathered
with other Labour MPs in Parliament to support the campaign for
women and to take part in this outward sign that the
Government is standing together with sufferers of the
disease. The event is trying to raise money and awareness for
the 38,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Sharon
said, "I am proud to be
able to team up with my colleagues and to take a stand for breast
cancer awareness. I have been campaigning on this issue for
many years, having seen the devastating effects of breast cancer on
individuals and families. I believe that if MPs become
passionate about the subject, more women can be helped, and
services can be improved even more. As Secretary of the All
Party Parliamentary Group on Breast Cancer, I have been working
closely with various charities, and we have seen many important
changes for women. The fight is not over, and I have
made it my mission to make sure that women have a voice and
Government has a vision to help those in need of
support".
