Sharon attended a reception at the House of Commons to support the Anthony Nolan Trust, along with Education Secretary, the Rt Hon Ed Balls MP, and charity representatives including the family of campaigning leukaemia patient Adrian Sudbury. At the event she became a ‘Parliamentary Friend of the Anthony Nolan Trust’, meaning she will help raise awareness of bone marrow donation in Parliament and the wider public. She also picked up a saliva kit to see if she might be eligible to donate bone marrow in the future.
