Sharon spoke to the All Party Design and Innovation Group’s reception on the topic of electric cars. Obviously this is something of great importance in Washington and Sunderland West due to the Nissan Leaf coming to the Nissan plant soon. Sharon gave a speech about the importance of electric cars to the regional economy and explained how the government needed to support the industry. It was also a great opportunity to meet representatives from Nissan and Smith Electric Vehicles from Washington, as well as other companies.
