   Family Policy debate 04.05.11

family

Sharon responded to a wide-ranging Westminster Hall debate on family policy, called by Conservative MP for Erewash, Jessica Lee.

Sharon used the debate to talk about safeguarding, early intervention and child poverty, and made the particular point that cuts to the childcare element of Working Tax Credits was causing problems for many working families - putting some parents in the position of having to consider quitting their jobs to care for their children.

Sharon's speech can be read here, or viewed here.
