Sharon joined a demonstration and petition hand-in organised by a group of mothers campaigning against cuts to Sure Start Children's Centres in their local areas.
The Mother's Day event, which was organised by mums Louise King and Ruth Hardcastle of NoCutsForKids.org, saw parents, children and MPs turn the gates of Downing Street into a makeshift Children's Centre, with the children enjoying nursery rhymes and face painting.
Petitions were collected from across the country, including Lambeth, Manchester, Hampshire, Liverpool, Camden, Derby, Stoke, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kirklees. In total, 52,000 signatures against cuts to Children's Centres were submitted to the Prime Minister, along with a Mother's Day card to Mrs Cameron pleading with her to stand up for other mothers.
Sharon was joined by fellow Labour MPs Yvette Cooper, Luciana Berger and Chris Williamson.
