In the lead up to the Government’s Welfare Reform and Work Bill to be voted on in Parliament on Tuesday 27th October, Sharon Hodgson, Member of Parliament for Washington and Sunderland West, has hit out at the Government’s cuts to tax credits.

This week Sharon Hodgson MP met with Business, Innovation and Skills Minister Nick Boles MP, as a part of a delegation pressing the Government to do more to clamp down on ticket touting and counterfeiting in the secondary ticketing market.

Washington and Sunderland West MP Sharon Hodgson hosted a masterclass from Team GB basketball and wheelchair basketball stars on Wednesday 16th September during the return of the ‘Shoot Some Hoops’ event in Parliament to help promote the sport.

I am proud of the Human Rights Act which was passed through Parliament under the last Labour Government, as it protects basic rights that we all benefit from such as the right to be free from torture, the right to free speech, the right to a fair trial, the right to protest and freedom of association.
