Sharon attended the One North East reception on ‘Developing the Low Carbon Economy in the North East’.  The reception coincides with news that the North East will receive £3.9 million to invest in low carbon vehicles.  

A consortium of One North East, Nissan, Smith Electric Vehicles and Ford will have the task of producing and researching electric vehicles and their use in society.

Sharon said afterwards,

“One North East has carried out much ground-breaking work in the low carbon revolution and has an ambitious and realistic vision for what we can do in the North East.  The reception was an opportunity to celebrate their work and hear about their direction for the future.”
