Sharon joined the crowd of Parliamentarians in Westminster Hall to hear Barack Obama's address, the culmination of his first State Visit to the UK.
The President's address was very well received; in addition to restating the importance of both our countries in world affairs - particularly in fostering democratic uprising in the Middle East and North Africa - it also included a tacit rejection of this Government's economic policies, and an approval of the measures that Labour took while in power to ensure that the country grew out of recession.
Sharon was introduced to the President by the Speaker of the House of Commons as he left Westminster Hall.
The President's full speech can be watched via the BBC, or read on the White House website.
