Sharon takes Oath of Allegiance 25.05.10

Sharon being sworn in as an MP

Just before the Queen's Speech debate in the Commons, Sharon was sworn in as a Member of Parliament, taking the Oath of Allegiance. The oath is as follows: "I swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God." Taking the oath means that Sharon can take full part in proceedings in the House of Commons from now until Parliament is dissolved again.
