Sharon had the opportunity to visit local grandmother Margaret Penman from Washington last Friday to see how she’d benefited from a Warm Front grant.
Mrs Penman was referred to Age Concern Sunderland by a concerned bank clerk after trying to arrange funds with her for boiler repairs - when in fact, she was eligible for a grant from Warm Front. Warm Front were able to provide her with a brand new fully-installed boiler.
Maureen Fildes (pictured top left) at Age Concern Sunderland explained to Mrs Penman that she was eligible to receive the Warm Front Grant and encouraged her to make a telephone application
Sharon was pleased to see how Margaret had benefited from Warm Front, and would encourage anyone else who thinks they may be eligible to ring the Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99 to access help and advice on staying warm in their home this winter, without the fear of fuel debt and ill health.
