Sharon Hodgson MP

Washington & Gateshead South Constituency

Unreasonable behaviour policy

Unreasonable behaviour policy

Sharon and her staff will always treat our constituents with respect.

In turn, we expect the same level of respect from our constituents.

We understand that some constituents may be frustrated and/or distressed when they contact our office.

However, we will not tolerate any disrespectful or unreasonable behaviour from constituents.

Please find below example of unacceptable behaviour:

- Aggressive or abusive behaviour
- Unreasonable demands
- Harassment
- Discriminatory language

We will always give constituents the chance to change their behaviour before we stop helping them, unless their behaviour threatens the safety of our staff or other people.

What we will do if your behaviour is unacceptable:

- end the conversation
- limit how much time we spend on the phone with you
- not reply to all your communications
- only help you with certain issues

In very serious circumstances we reserve the right to stop helping you altogether, we may also consider reporting your behaviour to the police.

End
