Rolton Kilbride proposed renewable energy centre Hillthorn Park in Washington

Information for my constituents regarding Rolton Kilbride's proposed renewable energy centre Hillthorn Park in Washington

A number of constituents have contacted me regarding the (proposed) planning application by Rolton Kilbride for a renewable energy centre in Washington.

As an MP I have no role in the planning process and therefore have no influence over the decision for planning permission for this plant.  This comes under the responsibility of the Local Planning Authority and the Local Council.  MPs are not the Council.

However, I do see it as my role as an MP to make sure that constituents are heard and not ignored.  Therefore, if any constituents write to me with their concerns I will forward these on to the Council on their behalf.  I am already doing this for those constituents who have contacted me.

We are aware that there is currently a petition set up on the 38 Degrees website directed at “Sharon Hodgeson MP & Sunderland Council Planning Department”.  Please note, to date (Date of publishing this page 07/09/2017, and still none as at 27/07/2018), none of these signatures or names are coming to Sharon’s office or email system.  Therefore, if you have submitted your personal details into this petition, you may wish to contact 38 Degrees or the author of the petition and ask where your contact details have gone on: [email protected]

If you wish to send your concerns on to Sharon on this matter, please email Sharon at [email protected] and a response will be sent out to you.
