Sharon visits Simpson Print Group as it celebrates a decade on Wearside.

Sharon visits Award-winning print group as it celebrates a decade on Wearside.

Simpson Group specialises in the design and production of printed Point of Sale (POS) and Point of Purchase (POP) display materials.

The £4m purpose-built headquarters Influence Park in Stephenson Industrial park in Washington has been the company’s home since 2006 and is the only simulated shopping centre in Europe, with offices branded as the company’s customers.

The company recently celebrated with a family fun day including a funfair, climbing wall, go karting track for over 200 people at the company’s site in support of the Great North Air Ambulance.

Simpson Group is a driving force in the local community and has supported The Great North Air Ambulance since 2013 following the loss of their colleague Graham, who was knocked off his bike and died following a road accident on the A68.  He had worked at the company since 1982 as a designer.  Members of the Simpson Group team will also be taking part in the Great North Run to raise funds for The Great North Air Ambulance also.

Simpson Group have raised £7k in 2016 for charities including the Alzheimer’s Society and The Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Simpson Group delivers to over 14,000 retail outlets every quarter across the UK.

The company currently employs 117 people on Wearside, and was awarded the Silver Investors in People (IIP) prize.

The company have also recently invested in a new Col-Tec Smart Collator (pictured above).

Following her visit Sharon said:

“It was a pleasure to visit such a thriving local business and learn more about what they do here in Washington. You can see how much thought and creativity has went into the development and upkeep of Influence Mall and it’s great to have something like this right on our doorstep. I wish them all the best with their new investment and future projects.”
